Rockstar made an unexpected statement that it is now officially cooperating with the team of models standing behind the insanely popular role -playing servers Grand Theft Auto 5 Fivem and Redm.

CFX.Re, the team standing behind the largest role communities Rockstar Fivem and Redm is now officially part of Rockstar Games. Fivem is the main host for the largest GTA RP servers, which is played by thousands of players even eight years after the GTA5 exit on PC.

This news surprised and delighted Rockstar fans, given that in the past the company waged an active struggle with modders. In 2015, Rockstar banned the work of the team that created the Fivem mod, calling the project "an unauthorized alternative multiplayer service containing a code intended to promote piracy".

Later, the founder of Fashion said that the Rockstar Take-Two maternal company sent private detectives to his house to intimidate it and force him to close the project.

The news appeared on the eve of the presentation of Grand Theft Auto 6, and this means that Rockstar plans to release GTA 6 with its own online role -playing functions. CFX.Re, in turn, undermined this assumption, stating fans: "Please do not ask us about the next GTA!".

"This is a huge step forward in the development of our community and the opportunity for us to work with Rockstar Games on the development of the Fivem platform and the creative community around it", – says in the statement of the CFX team.re.

While our daily activities will not undergo noticeable changes, with the support of Rockstar, we will continue to improve our platform, and we are really glad that this means for our users, communities and creators! And for those who are interested in what Rockstar is still working on, please understand that our cooperation with Rockstar Games is focused on Fivem and Redm platforms. Therefore, please, do not ask us about the next GTA! Thank you all for your support. We are not tolerated to see what will bring the future!

The reaction to this news in the vast majority of cases is positive. Here is a fragment:

Over the past few years, GTA 5 sales have been about five million copies per quarter, and GTA Online continues to be one of the main sources of income for Take-Two. The Rockstar developer confirmed that GTA 6 is in active development last year, but otherwise he officially remained silent about the development progress. At the end of last year, a large-scale leak of information occurred, which showed some parts of an unfinished game, but the head of Take-Two Strauss Zelnick said IGN several months later, although this was and it was "emotional question" for developers, this did not affect the business.

GTA 6 is expected either in 2025 or in 2026 financial year. 2025 The financial year begins in April 2024.
